1. Encountering Jesus and a Harvest Among Young People
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock…” — Revelation 3:20
Pray for:
• Young people across Cardiff to hear Jesus knocking and open the doors of their hearts to him.
• Jesus to be truly at the centre of their lives — at school, with friends, with family and in everyday life — and for a generation that refuses lukewarm faith and chases after him.
• A fresh revelation of who Jesus is and a whole generation to run unhindered to him, finding joy, identity and safety in Christ.
2. Unity, Authentic Faith and Fire Across Generations
Pray for:
• The unity already experienced across Cardiff’s churches to deepen and broaden, becoming a blessing not only to the Church but to the whole city.
• Young people from different churches and backgrounds to gather, worship, pray, encounter Jesus and grow in authentic faith, overflowing into churches, schools and communities.
• To keep the fire hot of what God is doing in this generation and see it expand to generations above and below.
3. Holy Spirit Boldness, Prayer and Active Participation
Pray for:
• Children and young people to be bold in following Jesus in schools, colleges, homes and friendship groups, with courage to speak about their faith and invite others to explore Christianity.
• Discernment to recognise spiritual opposition and courage to press through in bold prayer and action.
• Every member of the body of Christ to find their role — on the frontline, cheering others on in prayer, or both — and a generation that seeks God first in prayer and worship, not only as a final resort.
4. Mental Health, Wellbeing and Freedom
Pray for:
• Young people struggling with anxiety, loneliness, pressure and poor mental health to find hope, safe places and supportive relationships where they are known and valued.
• Churches, youth workers, teachers and families to have wisdom and compassion to support those who are struggling.
• To see the breaking of mental health disorders over our generation.
5. Cardiff as a Servant City — Leadership, Mission and Transformation
Pray for:
• The raising up of leaders in every area of society — including church planting, healthcare, business and education.
• Initiatives such as Festival CF and The Gather Movement, seeking to see the good news of Jesus transform every area of society and make his hope known across the CF region.
• Cardiff to be raised up as a “servant city” — a capital that raises up prayer, resources and missionaries for what Jesus is doing across Wales and beyond.
As we pray for Cardiff:
As we lift Cardiff before God, let us also lift our eyes and our hearts to the nation, praying earnestly for all of Wales — that God would bring healing, unity, renewal, hope and salvation across our cities, towns, valleys and communities.
As we pray for Wales, pray for:
• The Lord to heal the deep wounds in our nation, and for the people of Wales to find wholeness in discovering that they are beloved in Christ.
• Welsh- and English-language churches to work together, especially to see gospel communities planted in the darkest and most unreached corners of the nation.
• Any spirit of inferiority to be broken off the emerging generation, and for young people across Wales to be full of courage to partner with the Spirit in renewing the land.
