Vision
The Seven Cities Pilgrimage seeks to gather the Church of Wales into unity, prayer, and mission through seven strategic prayer gatherings across Wales’ seven cities. This initiative flows from the heartbeat of the 24-7 Prayer movement: to awaken the Church to pray, to mobilise intercession, and to dream again with God for cities and nations. Psalm 126 acts as the prophetic lens for the pilgrimage, giving voice to a spiritual return, renewal, and awakening: ‘When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed.’
Background & Story
Wales carries a rich inheritance of revival, mission, and prayer. From the Welsh Revival of 1904-1905 to local expressions of worship and intercession across the generations, God has repeatedly stirred the nation. Yet many leaders and believers are sensing a fresh call – one that invites Wales to lift its eyes beyond the present moment and to dream again.
The Seven Cities Prayer Pilgrimage is both a symbolic and practical act of unity: calling the Church together, city by city, to mark what God has done, to bless what he is doing, and to prepare for what he will do.
Ebenezer Altars
In Scripture, Ebenezer stones were established as markers of remembrance and faith. The altar in 1 Samuel 7 was built as a declaration that ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.’ But these stones spoke not only of remembrance, they activated faith for what God would continue to do in the future.
The Seven Cities Prayer Pilgrimage embraces this dual posture: gratitude for the past and faith for the future. Leaving permanent prayer altars in each city serves as a prophetic statement that intercession belongs in the public square and not merely within church buildings.
The Tour
We will be laying these Ebenezar Altars at various locations across Wales, starting in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea this October.
